Get six-pack abs with a high definition lipo

If what you are looking for is to get yourself a six-pack or defined muscles through a surgical procedure, then you need to know all about HD or high-definition lipo. This revolutionary plastic surgery is often a great enhancement, which is why we will address the most frequently asked questions about it below.

What is HD lipo?

It is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that meticulously removes the fat deposits adhered around muscle structure, interfering with its definition[1].

Since this surgery is carried out through tiny incisions of under 1 cm, its scar remains unnoticeable to the naked eye.

It allows sculpting the abdominal muscles, arms, legs, and lower back dimples, shaping the body to a more athletic and fit expression. Its recovery is brief, and it’s an ideal complement to laser lipolysis or laser liposuction.

Some reasons to undergo high definition lipo

Generally, patients undergo this type of plastic surgery when:

  • They are unable to tone certain parts of the body or naturally eliminate certain fat deposits despite exercise and a healthy diet.
  • Belly and skin in the abdominal area is a bit flabby after a pregnancy
  • They are unhappy with the accumulated fat and wish to use a safe and effective procedure to get rid of it.

However, it is the plastic surgeon who must determine whether this procedure is the best solution after evaluating the patient’s medical condition.

What is the difference between laser lipolysis and high definition lipo?

Both procedures can be applied to various parts of the body, and their processes may seem similar. However, laser lipolysis is used to remove fat deposits in general while HD lipo is used to highlight targeted muscles in treated areas, by removing stubborn fat from the muscle.

In addition, the first uses cutting-edge laser technology to promote collagen and elastin generation, increasing skin elasticity; while the second promises to better assemble the skin and muscle to produce that fitness effect.

Find out why laser lipolysis is better than traditional liposuction

What is high definition lipo recovery like?

Usually, the recovery is fast. You will be able to return home on the same day of surgery and resume routine activities the following day. However, it all depends on the medical recommendations given by your plastic surgeon to obtain optimal and long-lasting results.

Among the most important cares are:

  • Avoid heavy lifting and straining during the first few weeks, as this may affect the healing process.
  • Receive lymphatic drainage massages to help reduce pain and swelling.
  • Use post-surgical compression garments for as long as the plastic surgeon determines.

Brazilian Butt Lift

What is brazilian butt lift recovery like?

Buttock augmentation surgery is one of the most sought procedures by patients who want to improve the derriere in the long-term. However, many of them wonder how is brazilian butt lift recovery and the post-operative care that should be applied after undergoing this surgery.

For this reason, we have prepared an article that explains in detail what you should take into account for a quick recovery. Our intention is not to replace the medical consultation but to prepare you for what you will face. Take what you need and follow your plastic surgeon’s recommendations every time.

Basic post-op care for brazilian butt lift recovery

Brazilian butt lift is an outpatient procedure, so patients can leave the same day of surgery and resume their daily activities the next day if they wish.

However, this does not exempt them from following certain recommendations made by your plastic surgeon. Among the most frequent suggested post-op care after this brazilian butt lift are the following items [2]:

  • Wear post-surgical girdles that cover the treated area
  • Avoid physical activities of high impact or effort [3]
  • Do not sunbathe until the bruises disappear completely
  • Maintain a balanced diet rich in protein and vitamins
  • Try to get up and walk around as soon as you are able to do so
  • Avoid sitting for prolonged periods of time during the first few weeks
  • Sleep on your stomach or on your side for as long as your doctor recommends [1]

Frequently asked questions about brazilian butt lift recovery

The above recommendations leave some questions that we would love to answer below:

How can I sit after brazilian butt lift?

The answer to this question is a surprise for some patients when they learn that they cannot actually sit down during their recovery. Most plastic surgeons agree that avoiding this position for the first weeks is the best thing to do since direct pressure on the buttocks could damage the injected fat cells and it could cause the loss of the results obtained [6].

For this reason, refrain from sitting on your buttocks. It’s your plastic surgeon who will determine the appropriate time to return to this position [4] and to try other alternatives that mimic traditional sitting for short periods of time without putting pressure on the buttock.

One of these techniques is to sit in the edgy backwards chair position where the weight falls on the thighs and the buttock is in the air [7]. For this you will need a chair with no arms and the back of the chair facing your chest. Another option is to use BBL pillow or an elevated cushion so that the buttock is suspended in the air when sitting.

Can I sit on the toilet during brazilian butt lift recovery?

The short answer would be yes, you can sit.  Short periods of time sitting on the toilet will not cause too much change in your results [5]. This is possible because most of the weight is on your thighs and not on your buttocks when you sit. Also, the butt is suspended in the air thanks to the hole in the toilet, so there is no direct pressure on it.

However, avoid spending too much time sitting there. If you suffer from constipation, take prescribed medication by your doctor and only sit when you feel that your bowel movement will not take too long.

In summary

Recovery from a brazilian butt lift will be quick as long as you follow the instructions of the plastic surgeon who is attending your case. Some of the main postoperative care are the use of post-surgical compression garments, side or face down positions when sleeping, the consumption of fruits, vegetables and proteins, among others.

However, one of the most challenging recomendations is not being able to sit down on your buttocks during the first weeks of recovery. Normally, patients spend time lying down or sitting before the surgery, but they will have to change their habits in the postoperative period to maintain the results of the intervention.

What does a facelift do?

Since our teenage years, women more than men are encouraged to take care of their facial skin to prevent premature aging and wrinkles. However, the passage of time always takes its toll no matter how many moisturizing creams we apply. This explain why the facelift is a great solution to smooth the sagging skin that is evident in the area.

This procedure is very popular in patients over 40s to 60s and it has the potential to rejuvenate up to 10 years younger. For this reason, we have compiled the most important information for you to discuss in detail what a facelift consists of and what the recovery is like after surgery.

What is a facelift?

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that tightens sagging facial skin to create a more youthful appearance [5]. It removes excess skin, smoothes creases in different areas of the face such as the cheeks, and tightens facial tissue to give it a raised appearance.

A facelift does not include a brow lift or eyelid surgery, although all could be combined in the same session if the plastic surgeon approves it [1]. Actually, the main focus of this procedure is on the lower two-thirds of the face, often including the neck and décolleté.

How does a facelift work?

The procedure to perform a facelift varies according to the patient’s needs and the plastic surgeon’s preferred techniques [7]. Broadly speaking, the doctor makes very small incisions in areas where scarring would be imperceptible such as the temple, in front of the earlobe, under the jaw, among others.

After this, the excess skin is removed from the face, fat is redistributed if necessary, and the remaining skin is pulled back and up before suturing.

How is the recovery after a facelift?

The facelift is an outpatient surgery, therefore, the patient can go home the same day of surgery and may resume their daily activities the next day if desired. However, he/she must follow all the medical recommendations given [2].

In general, wearing sunscreen daily, avoiding direct sun for at least three months, preventing physical activities that involve bending forward and refraining from heavy lifting [6] are just some of the indications to be followed during recovery.

What is the best age to have a facelift?

There is no pre-established ideal age to perform this type of treatment since each patient ages differently, they have different lifestyles and the quality of the skin from one person to another is not the same. What we have noticed is an increase in its popularity among women over 40 and men over 50. However, it is always better to get medical consultation for each case individually than to assume.

What are the benefits?

Among the main benefits for which patients request a facelift, we find [3]:

  1. Long-lasting facial rejuvenation: the results of this procedure attack different signs of aging and it lasts longer than any other cosmetic treatment.
  2. Compatible with other facial procedures: facelift can be performed in conjunction with other facial surgeries such as brow lift or eyelid surgery to complement the results and to achieve a more youthful appearance.
  3. Imperceptible scarring: Although the exact size and location of the incisions depend on the areas to be treated and the desired results, most incisions are made behind the ear or along the hairline for easy concealment after surgery, so you will only know your secret.
  4. Better self-confidence: patients feel more self-confident by improving their appearance which it also affects their interpersonal relationships with close people [4].

In summary

Facelift is a surgical procedure that improves multiple signs of aging on the face and neck. It is an outpatient procedure that serves to rejuvenate the facial appearance of both men and women.

Contrary to what some people believe, a facelift can offer natural and long-lasting results that leave scars unnoticeable to the public and allow patients to not be afraid to take selfies or be videotaped in a videochat.

How to get rid of loose skin on the body?

As time goes by, everyone starts to notice signs of aging or physical wear in different ways. Diet, genetics, physical activity, or our lifestyle could influence these signs, being loose skin one of the most common problems. Hence, there are different measures to avoid or get rid of this weakening of skin and muscle.

The loss of firmness could generate distrust in wearing certain types of clothes and a wrong perception of your body. For this reason, we have compiled the most important information on the subject so that you can take the necessary measures to prevent this problem.

What is considered loose skin?

Loose skin, also called cutaneous elastosis, is what happens when the tissue loses firmness caused by the decrease of elastin and collagen [6], responsible for the elasticity and resistance of the skin.

This sagging can be evident in various parts of the body such as arms, thighs, buttocks, breasts and abdomen. It can also occur on the facial part, but we will only focus on the body areas for this article.

loose skin

What causes loose skin?

Sagging can occur for several reasons of which these are some of the main ones [2]:

  • Aging: the skin loses thickness and muscle mass as the years go by, which causes us to experience flaccidity in some areas of the body.
  • Hormonal changes: mainly women after pregnancy and menopause, may experience a destruction of collagen fibers more easily and their replenishment may become slower.
  • Sedentary lifestyle: remaining inactive affects muscle tone, and therefore, it allows the appearance of flaccidity.
  • Abrupt weight fluctuations: when weight is lost very quickly, the volume is reduced but the skin does not manage to retract, so it begins to be left over in different parts. In addition, if patients have previously undergone bariatric surgery [3], sagging may be a usual consequence for some of them.
  • Sun exposure: if sun radiation is abused, the skin becomes dehydrated and it starts to lose consistency. Additionally, it increases the risk of contracting serious diseases such as skin cancer.
  • Poor diet: a nutrient-poor eating plan produces that the tissue reduces its muscle mass and the skin decreases the production of collagen and elastin. In addition, if we add the consumption of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, this would contribute to the increase of flaccidity.

How to prevent or treat loose skin?

To prevent or correct the appearance of body flab, experts have recommended following some of the following strategies [5]:

Consume foods rich in protein and antioxidants

To maintain optimal collagen production, it is essential to consume foods rich in protein and antioxidants [1] to promote its formation and prevent premature aging. In addition, the necessary water intake during the day will help keep the skin hydrated and cellular processes occur normally.

Exercises with weights

Strength work is a fundamental piece to achieve a strengthened muscle that supports the skin and keeps it younger [8]. Planks, burpees, push-ups, squats, among other exercises combined with dumbbells or weights will allow to work the muscle tone and make it firmer.

Cosmetic treatments

Although diet and exercise allow you to prevent flaccidity in various parts of the body, sometimes it is not enough and therefore it is necessary to seek cosmetic treatments to correct it.

Surgical procedures [4] such as abdominoplasty, breast lift, arm lift and Renuvion (J Plasma) are some of the interventions that improve sagging [7] in the affected body areas.

In summary

Body flaccidity is one of the problems of major medical consultation when neither exercise nor nutrition are enough to correct it. Premature aging, pregnancy, and radical weight fluctuations are some of the main reasons for this situation.

Because of this, many patients cosmetics treatments to fix the deterioration. Depending on the area and the medical diagnosis, lifting or tightening may be performed on the compromised body parts. Some examples of these would be breast lift, abdominoplasty, arm lifts, among other surgeries.
